Our playing levels are grade-based, but the registration system uses a player’s birthdate to show available options. If your child’s birthdate falls outside this range, an appropriate level may not show. If this occurs, contact us at [email protected], and we'll adjust.

SLV Hoops Basketball (25-26)

SLV Hoops provides a healthy and nurturing development zone for youth basketball in and around the San Lorenzo Valley community. The emphasis is on learning, teamwork and sportsmanship.

Is the skills evaluation mandatory?

Yes! In order to be placed on a team we must know the player's skill level. If you can't make it on November 2nd, plan to come to the makeup day on November 9th. Skill evaluations are important to our organization and used to assist our coaches in building equitable teams. It’s not a perfect process, but the information we receive is valuable. Studies show that balanced teams at the youth level keep games fun and rewarding for the kids.

When do we know what team we are on?

After the skills evaluations the coaches will meet and draft teams. You should plan to hear from your coach no later than December 1st. Reach out to us if you have not heard from your coach by this time.

When and where will practice be?

All indoor practices take place on Sundays at either the SLV High School or SLV Middle School Gyms starting in December. The times range from 10am to 7pm and the coaches will select their times in November. Coaches may also choose to have one outdoor practice after school each week at either an SLV outdoor court or Boulder Creek Elementary outdoor court.

Do we get a jersey?

Yes! Every player will receive a jersey from their coach. Players can wear athletic shorts and shoes for games. No hats or jewelry allowed during games.

What is Little Ballers?

Our Little Ballers program is a way for our Kindergarten & 1st graders to develop skill and a love for the game before they are on an official team. Little Ballers will have 7 one-hour practices on Sundays starting on January 11 and ending on February 22. There are no official games for this level.

Can I be a sponsor?

Yes! We are no longer offering team sponsorships, but instead we are excited to welcome league sponsors. A league sponsor will have their business name and clickable link included in all league emails throughout the season. Become a sponsor here: https://slvyouth.org/sponsor/
